Shapes in the Clouds

The story of how the clouds came to be...

In 2017 I began illustrating a children's book about a traveling cloud. As as a result I began to acquire a large collection of cloud studies and images of clouds. My interest in clouds began to grow deeper as I studied their anatomy. I interviewed a meteorologist who I began to refer to regularly as more thought clouds began to arise.

In response to all of this cloudy business, naturally, I began to anthropomorphize the clouds. Giving them human characteristics and emotions. I learned a lot about how to paint these poofy shapes in their many forms and that is how this particular series was born.

I have big plans for this series. Currently the originals are not for sale, but soon there will be prints available of them in varied sizes. The originals will go for sale in late 2023, inquire within if you would like to be the first to be notified when this sale happens.
